Our Founders

With a passion to ignite a spirit of giving among Christians, co-founders Larry Burkett, Terry Parker, and Ron Blue began the journey of establishing the National Christian Foundation.

These men cast a vision for an organization built upon biblical values, humility, and financial integrity. With a board of directors committed to the Founders' vision, the legacy begun by these servant leaders in 1982 still holds true today by God's grace.

Larry Burkett, NCF Co-Founder / Board Member (1939-2003)
NCF was co-founded by Larry Burkett, a pioneer in the teaching of Christian financial stewardship principles. Larry served on NCF's board of directors until his death in July, 2003. In 1976, Larry formed Christian Financial Concepts (CFC), a nonprofit organization dedicated to teaching the biblical principles of handling money. In September 2000, CFC merged with Crown Ministries, creating a new organization, Crown Financial Ministries. Larry published more than 70 books, sales of which now exceed 11 million copies and include several national best-sellers. The four radio programs, "Money Matters, " "How to Manage Your Money, " "MoneyWatch, " and "A Money Minute, " are carried on more than 1,100 radio outlets worldwide. Prior to his death, Larry founded the Larry Burkett Cancer Research Foundation.

Ron Blue, NCF Co-Founder and Founder, Kingdom Advisors
Following his graduation from Indiana University with a Masters of Business Administration degree in 1967, Ron joined the management group of Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co. and worked with the firm in New York City, Dallas, and San Francisco.

In 1970, Ron founded an Indianapolis-based CPA firm that has grown to be one of the 50 largest CPA firms in the United States. Leaving the CPA firm in 1977, Ron became Administrative Vice President of Leadership Dynamics International. While with Leadership Dynamics, he was involved in developing and teaching Biblically-based leadership and management seminars in the United States and Africa.

Since 1979 Ron has had held a God given passion to help Christians plan and manage their finances in order to be able to maximize their giving to Kingdom purposes. God has allowed him to work this out over the last almost 35 years in several ways. Dr. Howard Hendricks influenced him to begin what later became a financial planning firm. He has written several books on this topic and in 2003 he helped to found a ministry training Christian financial advisors to integrate God’s financial wisdom in their advice and counsel.

In 1982 Ron and Larry Burkett helped Terry Parker found the National Christian Foundation, which over the years has assisted Christians in giving over $5 billion to Christian and charitable causes worldwide. In January, 2012 Indiana Wesleyan University, a leading Christian university established The Ron Blue Institute for Financial Planning which is dedicated to multiplying the over 40 years of professional experience and intellectual property of Ron through curriculum development and other products in multiple outlets worldwide. Ron and Judy, his wife of 48 years, live in Atlanta, Georgia. They have five children and thirteen grandchildren.
